The CREDO Experience
I came to CREDO with a great deal of vocational confusion and am leaving with a clear sense of call, vision and purpose. I came to CREDO with a disquieted soul and am leaving in the peace of Christ.

Who am I? Who is God calling me to be?
Maybe you thought you answered those questions long ago.
But perhaps you should address them once again, in a rejuvenating, supportive community of Christian love and be reminded that the wisdom and grace of God is nearer than the very breath you take.
The CREDO mission is to provide opportunities for people to examine significant areas of their lives and to discern prayerfully the future direction of their vocation as they respond to God's call in a lifelong process of practice and transformation.
Opportunities for you to examine significant areas of your life
Taking stock of your life in today’s world of instant change is a difficult challenge. You are constantly multi-tasking and busy beyond imagination. As one who serves in the Church, you are continually focused on others. Having the time to address your own needs—your hopes and dreams—is, in most cases, not a priority in your overloaded calendar. However, the wellness of those around you is directly dependent on your own wellness. When you attend a CREDO conference, you’ll have the time and luxury of focusing on yourself for a few precious days, so that you’ll be better equipped to serve those back home—to be “fit” for ministry.
To discern prayerfully the future direction of your vocation
Ironically, due to its unique pressures and demands, the context of ministry is not an ideal place to re-evaluate or even rediscover your own calling. A CREDO conference removes you from that context for a short time, while providing a foundation to help you prayerfully discern the direction of your personal and professional life.
You’ll engage in extensive reflection through pre-conference instruments, surveys, and other resources that focus on your personal and professional wellness. The eight-day curriculum is designed to trigger personal discovery through guided reflection, introspection, and dialogue.
To respond to God’s call in a lifelong process of practice and transformation
Through this discernment and visioning process, and with the help of a faculty team, you will build a CREDO Plan—a personal covenant based on your CREDO work and a formal expression of your CREDO experience. The CREDO Plan provides a personal baseline and strategy for effective implementation.
The CREDO Plan is one that you will take home with you, carry in your heart, and hopefully guide you through the coming years. Some past participants have seen their plan as a kind of sacrament in their ongoing transformation.
